About me...

My name is Eric Oostendorp and I am an Australian, a Professional Sports Coach and a Sculptor currently living in Singapore. I have discovered a love for sculpting the human physique in sports action.

My passion and interest in Sports has been a lifelong pursuit. I gained my love of sports and competition from my father who was a representative swimmer in Australia. I played many sports and always pushed myself to excel.
I followed my interest and studied Physical Education at University which enabled me to appreciate more deeply Human Movement, Anatomy and Skill Acquisition.
I began sculpting with wood, then drawing Australian Wildlife for a gallery during my later school years. The artistic gene I gained from my talented mother who painted whilst I was at home and who taught me about shading and perspective.
About my Art...
Sculpting an athlete in a moment of their dynamic mastery is what I strive to capture. Hopefully, each time you look at it, the movement and muscle definition lets you feel the athlete's energy; it gives you an appreciation of their skill and grace, inspiring you!
Each original Sculpture takes me several months from conception to completion and is created to scale.
The absence of facial identity hopefully focuses the viewer’s attention on the body's movement, which depicts the highest level of technical skill.

About the sculpture...
My original pieces begin with an internal wire frame upon which I use clay to create the body shape, definition and detail.
Once I'm finally happy with the sculpture and it conveys the feeling I'm looking for, I have the sculpture digitally scanned. The sculpture scan is then 3D printed by a professional in high definition white resin, after which I start refining the surface detail again. Each sculpture has a custom base made for it and my signature lazar etched on it.

Each sculpture is only reproduced upon order and a maximum of 18 times for sale. The size and color design can be customized upon request. Each piece is numbered and certified authentic.
